Design Thinking for Your Healthcare Startup

Saturday, March 14
3:30PM - 4:30PM

Hilton Austin Downtown
Salon B
500 E 4th St

MIT Hacking Medicine love's the idea of using design thinking to improve healthcare. Design thinking is something that everyone is capable of – but often becomes an afterthought or becomes seemingly too complicated when considering how many users and different stakeholders one must consider in healthcare.

In this session, we aim to teach techniques to aid in ensuring that your new technology idea resonates with all the pieces of the puzzle. Skills such as determining who the users are and how to leverage their wants and needs properly is always a difficult balance, but we will attempt to provide insight through interactive white-boarding, idea sketching, and brainstorming that is focused on a topic everyone can relate to: a pain point, or bad experience in medicine. Participants will identify specific pain points and engage in an activities that focuses on how to better develop a solution with human-centered design at the core.
