Presentation covering what the software engineering team at Public Good Software – a social benefit enterprise in Chicago – has learned in the process of designing, building, and deploying a large web application written in the Go programming language. I will discuss how we use Go, what tools we have built to make our development cycle faster and more efficient, and discuss how we use key features of Go to make our applications unique.

Go is a relatively new language borne of Google in 2007. It has attracted a great deal of interest from programmers of all stripes, especially disaffected web developers seeking alternatives to popular frameworks like Ruby on Rails and Django.
