Money Can’t Buy Happiness but Data Can Teach It
From Pharrell’s Happy to #100HappyDays and the bestselling The Happiness Project, the pursuit of happiness has become a global effort. At the same time, the Quantified Self movement has taught people the benefits of studying performance and behavior. We’re on the precipice of combining our desire for happiness with data analysis and visualization, which will help build the emotional graph.
As the social graph helps us understand our connections to people, places and things using our activity online and the health graph documents our digital health connections and records our progress over time, the emotional graph will blend our interest in happiness with our ability to better understand our lives through digital tools. It will provide the ability to drill deep and analyze how our emotional fitness relates to and changes during our lives.
This presentation will explore how the emotional graph will make us more prepared and equipped to develop our happiness.
