Vinyl, Tape, Lathe: Thriving with Vintage Technology

In 2011, United Record Pressing teamed up with all analog studio Welcome to 1979 to create a series of live recordings above the presses at United. This series is an homage to all things analog and is recorded in United's "Motown Suite" - an apartment above the plant that hosted black artists and executives who were otherwise denied hotel accommodations in a segregated Nashville. Hear audio from the original tapes of these sessions and learn about the historical and technical aspects of analog recordings as well as the resurgence of vinyl.
