The Web arrived in glory and hope. It was going to be a new beginning that let us at last get right our relationships to business, to governments, to media, to one another. Now even many of the early Internet enthusiasts think the Web has recentralized, new authorities replacing the old, and if anything has changed, it's for the worse. But is that true? Are we taking the positive changes for granted? Most important, what are the real opportunities the Internet opens for us?
