*Part I - The University of Texas System will present a two part discussion/conversation and reception lead by moderator Cecilia Conrad, PhD - Vice President of the MacArthur Fellows Program. Conrad will lead a conversation with some of the brightest minds within the University of Texas System some of which include: Thomas Geisbert, PhD, UT Medical Branch Galveston recently named one of Time Magazine’s “People the Year” for his research on fighting the Ebola virus and Laurence Cooper, MD, PhD who leads the Pediatric Cell Therapy Program at MD Anderson and is providing new hope against aggressive childhood cancers by developing and manufacturing targeted therapies.
