Each day, people send billions of text messages. The ubiquity of texting makes it one of the most powerful modes of connecting with people in the digital age. But can texting help us build a sense of empathy for others, even beyond our friends, family and colleagues? Dr. Sara Konrath, Assistant Professor at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, explores the development of new SMS tools designed to help build empathy in teens and the research behind them.
