Artist Health Advocacy Meet Up
As an artist, healthcare may be one of the last things on your mind, or something that seems nearly impossible to understand or afford.
During this hour session, speak with ambassadors from the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, the SIMS Foundation, Future of Music Coalition's HINT and MusiCares to ask the tough questions on health reform for artists. Learn more about the changing healthcare system from the experts and explore the many opportunities available for freelancing creatives!

He has been an active musician since he was nine years old, and an active fan since he was learning to crawl. In addition participating in many festivals (SXSW '06-'013 TapeOpCon '04-'08; Potluck Con '08 - '13; Pop Montreal '06; FMC Policy Summits '03-'011; PopAsheville '07-'09; Six Points Music Festival '07; San Francisco Tech Summit '11; Berlin Music Week '12) to discuss anything from music's changing landscape, recording, and advocacy, to the troubling state of health insurance in the U.S. He is a partner with an insurance agency in the Carrboro/Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, specializing in insurance as it relates to the artist, studio owner, and musician.
