The journey for Houston, Texas' Raven Sorvino began with a mic and a dream. Residing in Leimert Park, CA, Raven began pursuing her passion for music with indie label Language Artz Records out of Los Angeles. Scouted by Language Artz CEO, Picaso, Raven released her critically acclaimed "Inspired" EP in 2011, a project influenced entirely by the late songstress Aaliyah. Continuing on her path of success, Sorvino released her debut album "Paper Girl" to rave reviews at the top of 2012. The album, executive produced by Los Angeles production team, The Formula, garnered Sorvino more fans and respect across the board, as well as landing her a nomination for Best Female Artist at the 2012 Underground Music Awards in New York. Raven's follow up summer release "Playa del Rey" continued her rise in music. With appearances by Casey Veggies, Problem and production from TDE’s Willie B, Ro. Blvd., The Formula & WoodysProduce, "Playa del Rey" further solidified Sorvino as one of the premier MC's in today’s music industry.
2013 started off with a bang! Sorvino quickly became the hot ticket artist landing features with Mac Miller, Pac Div, Problem, Doley Bernays and some of todays top blogs in Vice Magazine, HypeTrak, Complex, SBTV, and XXL. Raven also saw success with multiple shows at the 2013 SXSW music conference and across the coast in New York City as a special guest at the Mishka 10 year anniversary party sponsored by Noisey.
With buzz tracks "Trill Bitches" & "In My Mind" already creating a stir across the internet, Raven Sorvino premiered her highly anticipated "Queen of HeArtz" EP through Noisey on Novemeber 11th with Language Artz Records. Executive produced by WoodysProduce and Sorvino herself, "Queen of HeArtz" saw great success for its new wave sound and production value unprecedented of an independant female artist. "Queen of HeArtz" features production from WoodysProduce and J. Hyphen, and guest features from Mike G (Odd Future), A$ton Matthews (Yamborgini Records), Maxo Kream, Neijah Lanae, & Larina "Ina" Williams. To commemorate the release of her EP, Raven Sorvino finished 2013 strong by teaming up with Mishka NYC for a limited edition "40z and Strippaz" T-shirt, a play off one of the EP's standout records. With the release of "Hardcore", an homage to Lil' Kim, Raven Sorvino signaled the next phase in her career by announcing her next album, Queen of HeArtz: The Supreme LP due out spring 2014.
