A Dallas staple for years, Lil Man has emerged as one of the more consistent hip hop artists from Dallas over the last half decade. Bursting on to the scene in 2006 with a group of young up stars, headed by Dallas, DJ Drop, the Mixtape Heavyweights, Lil Man first made his mark on “ Ride in my car” on the group’s first mixtape, which saw local success on clubs and radio. A diverse artist known for his catchy hooks, Lil Man, personifies a Texas artist. Paying his dues, putting out several mix tapes, Lil Man quickly became a household name in Texas, hitting the road with Lil Wil during his “My Dougie” run, Lil Man expanded his brand throughout the Southwest. Capitalizing on the boogie movement, Lil Man hit viral success with “D-Town Boogie” which garnered 200,000+ views on YouTube. Lil Man aka Meezy started to really come into his own on the string of DCC (Dallas City Council;Da Cannabis Club) mix tapes, where he honed his craft alongside Dallas legend Tum Tum. In 2012, Lil Man saw international success with his viral video “Big Bootie” which hit over 3 million views, and sent him around the world traveling to the likes of Germany, Amsterdam, and Belgium to perform. Fresh off completion of his latest working, a concept EP dubbed “Actavis Music” which pays homage to the drank culture originated in Texas, Lil Man is someone to keep tabs on for the next upcoming years.
