RI¢HIE

7033

Nashville, TN-based RI¢HIE is set to release their debut full-length album “Night Game” via Moutain Lion Island Records on February 25, 2014 - available for pre-order at http://myrichie.bandcamp.com/

Whether they’re playing at Bonnaroo or a bowling alley, RI¢HIE brings the beat that makes you wanna clap. Produced by Skylar Wilson and Jordan Lehning (Caitlin Rose, Justin Townes Earle) and engineered by David Vandervelde, their new album “Night Game” plays the androgyny of glam against the sure-throated machismo of 80s rock and everybody wins. You can almost see the humidity wafting from the night-hot asphalt. It’s party time.

Fronted by chief songwriter Richie Kirkpatrick, the band RI¢HIE was formed at the tail end of the promotional tour for Jessica Lea Mayfield’s 2011 album ‘Tell Me,’ for which Richie was the lead guitarist and bandleader. Much of the material on “Night Game” was written in vans and hotel rooms on those tours in 2011 and 2012.

Following the release of “Night Game”, RI¢HIE heads down to SXSW to showcase at The Parish Underground Friday 3/14 alongside fellow Nashville bands Diarrhea Planet and PUJOL.

“...we can’t argue against RI¢HIE’s full-force rock tornado.” --Nashville Scene
“...solidly rock guitar work.” --Brooklyn Vegan
“The double-drummer set-up gives crazy weight to these songs, letting Kirkpatrick and the rest of the band cut loose and get weird.” --Nashville Scene
“...a style that reflects...an awareness that not everything can or has to be a joke.” --Daytrotter
