Wick-it the Instigator is known as a breath of fresh air in an otherwise over-crowded EDM scene. His SoundCloud, one of the top 200 most active pages on the entire site, has garnered over 35,000 followers and 5,500,000 plays. Wick-it landed at #5 on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart and has a highly interactive online fan base (currently 500+ Facebook Fans added per week and often 5,000+ people “talking about him” on Facebook).
In 2012, Microsoft recognized that direct audience connection and chose Wick-it to produce a song for its Windows 8/Angry Birds: Star Wars commercial that was channeled to millions of prime-time viewers (Link to commercial here).
Wick-it first came onto the scene in 2010 with the release of The Brothers of Chico Dusty, a mash-up of Big Boi’s Sir Lucious Left Foot and The Black Keys’ Brothers. He then followed up with the Grindhouse Basterds Album, which was a Quentin Tarantino tribute record, featuring remixes from several Tarantino films. With the heightened success of his original remixes, headline tours and huge sets at major festivals, it’s obvious Wick-it’s talents extend far beyond an impressive online presence and a vast fan base.
Wick-it is notorious for big beats, huge drops and putting his own spin on hit songs including HOV’s single “Holy Grail” featuring Justin Timberlake. Song can be found here.
