Print Is Amazing (...ly Profitable!)

#sxsw #Print

"Print is dead" is so last year. 2013 alone saw the arrival of nearly 900 new titles. From Pitchfork to Style.com to Dr. Oz to Modern Farmer to allrecipes to Politico: across the media, in every niche, viable new magazines are launching. Even more remarkable is the fact that the survival rate for new launches is higher than it has been in decades. What do we know about print media right now, as it recovers from its near-death-experience? Print is different than it used to be. But it's enduring. It's brand-building. And—done right—it's profitable. Magazines launching successfully today are lead by publishers, technologists, editors, designers, and journalists who approach the the vintage craft of paper journalism in a revolutionary way. What have they learned? How can those lessons be applied to any start-up? What will the future of print look like? How can YOU use it wisely?
