CANAL+, premium global media company, based in France, will launch a brand new video experience in January 2014: the Social Player.
The Social Player is a revolutionary video platform with two key features social and user-centric.
Users will manage their own channels and will be aware of what is happening on others thanks to the player social feed.
The video experience will be fully personalized through a personal social feed
Through a gamified process, viewers will be able to create video playlists gathering their favorite shows.
They will share with their friends on social networks what they like and what they watch.
Time comments will be integrated on each video (à la soundcloud).
The Social Player is more than a video platform, it is a video social network, It is to video, what soundcloud and spotify are for music.

It has been developped to engage Canal+ fan base over Facebook. It makes it easier for community managers to install several Games (Personnality tests, TV Qoutes, Quizz, instant win, photo contests etc...), over their fan pages, and build a more engaging strategy with their fan base.
This plateform is still work in progress, it's aim is to help Canal+ develop its gamification strategies.
