Drop City Yacht Club

8565

Formed in 2009, by a sequence of random events, Drop City Yacht Club consists of Rapper/Producer/Songwriter duo Kristo and THX. Both are proud residents of Northern and Southern California and often pay homage to their beloved home state through their music. Best known for their breakout hit "Crickets,”ft. Jeremih, the group have made it a priority to constantly evolve their sound and continue to push their own creative boundaries. The group has long been inspired by such Hip Hop royalty as The Beastie Boys and Outkast to rock legends The Police and Pink Floyd. The list doesn't stop there and they could probably fill this entire bio with a roll-call of equally contrasting artistic heroes. With a palette that diverse, it's no wonder Drop City Yacht Club have been able to carve out their own lane in an often over-saturated market. Their song "Crickets" rapidly stormed up the charts and garnered a surprising amount of attention and accolades for a then virtually unknown group. It has since been featured in the box office film "Endless Love".

Kristo and THX split duty on all the creative aspects (rapping/producing/songwriting) of the group and pride themselves on a quality over quantity mantra and have a deep penchant for "not sucking". That same vigor follows them to the live arena as well. Known for their energetic and engaging on stage exploits, they weave an intricate and well delivered performance with a loose and easy vibe. So there you have it; two rapping-producing-weird and random inspiration having-dope live show delivering-never content with the norm-unicorn loving-bundle of awesomeness better known as Drop City Yacht Club. Define at your own risk.
