GHETTOSOCKS

6328

Ghettosocks is a JUNO nominated artist born in Ottawa and living in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. In a short period of time, Socks has expanded his fan base from across Canada, to Europe, South America, Australia, Japan, and into the United States. His unorthodox songwriting style and energetic live performances have placed Socks in high demand both nationally and internationally. Constantly touring various regions of Canada, having embarked on three American tours, five European tours, plus an introductory Japanese tour, Socks has become a seasoned performer. Aside from providing support for a who’s-who of established artists*, Socks has been steadily headlining more and more of his own shows, making him an up-and-comer to check for.

With love for '90s Golden Era Hip Hop, and a futuristic mindset, Ghettosocks combines sharp, witty punch lines, with clever pop-culture references over an ecclectic mix of instrumental landscapes. Socks is an interesting breed of artist who somehow manages to appeal to extremely diverse and fickle rap (and non-rap) audiences.

Ghettosocks’ latest work, "FYPT", features hip hop heavyweights such as El Da Sensei (of The Artifacts), Sadat X (of Brand Nubian), and London, England’s legendary production duo, The Herbaliser.

(*including The Pharcyde, Nas, Afrika Bambaataa, AZ, Special Ed, The Gza, The Beatnuts, The Herbaliser, El da Sensei, Kool Herc, and dozens more)
