WENTRU is a chilean synth pop band formed in 2008 with an interesting female voice, rich synth sounds, catchy beats, and energetic live shows. Influenced by synths and sounds from the 80´s, WENTRU has quickly been developing an interesting career on the national independent scene, but has also had some great international achievements.
The band has three independent LP’s: “Resumen” (2008), “Todo Va a Explotar” (2010), and BAILA! (2012). WENTRU has been recognized for their creative and colorful music videos: “Intensa”, “Sunset”, Vienes y Te Vas”, and “Vamos Afuera”, all of which are currently rotating on MTV Latinamerica and have been greatly received by audiences.
Besides Chile, WENTRU has been featured in music blogs from countries such as Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, and the United States. They have been part of two compilations of the best of Latin-American Indie music.
WENTRU is considered one of the more interesting and talented bands on the new Chilean Indie pop scene. They just released their latest EP, “El Lado Salvaje” (2013) which includes four songs with a lot of rythym, great synth line basses, and a touch of 80´s synths.
