Out Magazine

Shana Naomi Krochmal is a writer, producer and shameless enthusiast who creates and develops editorial, interactive and social content. She's been working in media since she was 17—(more than) half a lifetime ago—but still loves to use the internet like a teenager.

As a supervising digital producer for Al Jazeera America, she leads all social and digital strategy for its science series "TechKnow." While at Current TV, she worked on "The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur," the Peabody Award-winning documentary series "Vanguard" and the verite/performance music show "Embedded."

She's also a longtime contributing editor at OUT magazine, where she has most recently written cover stories about Josh Hutcherson, Chris Pine, Portia de Rossi, Adam Levine, Billy Joe Armstrong, Jane Lynch, Adam Lambert, Pete Wentz and the film adaptation of "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."

She's contributed commentary to NPR's "Morning Edition" and "All Things Considered," created the world's first Twitter-based soap opera (a tie in for Showtime's "The L Word") and, depending on who you ask, may actually be the nation's leading expert on the relative gayness of pop stars.

Venue Mgr/Booking Agent

Berklee College of Music

THE RED ROOM @ Cafe 939/Berklee College of Music is a 200 capacity all-ages venue in the heart of Boston. It has been part of Boston's illustrious music landscape since 2008 and has hosted some of the industry's most recognized indie artists, singer-songwriters and up and coming bands. I have had the great fortune to be at its helm since the beginning, working along side Berklee's music industry students with the hopes of growing a stronger nation of star agents, managers, venue owners and booking agents. 100% of the 939 students get jobs upon graduation because we run this venue in real time and the intention of presenting bands that are on the cusp of greatness. It's the greatest job I've ever had and I'll give it 110% until I can't do it anymore. I love music and was born to do this.
