Creating music instills an appreciation and respect for the art, which ultimately benefits the industry. Examine the state of entry-level music creation, the tools available to both create and share original music, and the implications for the overall music business.

Ean Golden is a forward thinking performance DJ that has played a major role in the development of digital DJing throughout the world. Along with popularizing controllerism and DJ controllers, he was the lead designer on several of the top selling DJ products in the last 5 years including Traktor S4, Novation Dicer, and Midi Fighter. Since 2007 Ean has been running DJTechTools.com, the leading DJ technology outlet that hosts over a million people each month. Through this community, he has been very influential in educating the new generation in the creative power of digital technology while respecting the history of DJ culture. Matthew Adell

As CEO of Beatport, Matthew Adell is responsible for the company’s overall strategic direction, operational effectiveness, and growth of both the brand and its core business. He joined the company in 2009 as COO, and assumed the role of CEO the following year. Adell has dedicated his career to connecting people with the music they love, beginning as a teenager working at a record store in suburban Chicago, to holding key positions at several influential music companies. Prior to Beatport, Adell served as VP of Music Services at Napster, where he was charged with creative oversight of the company’s music programming and product initiatives. Previous positions include VP of Music Services at MusicNow.com, as well as senior positions at Amazon and Motorola's Radiowave.com. He also was VP of Wax Trax! Records, where he signed The KLF, KMFDM and others, and later founded Organico, his own house music label and the original home to Derrick Carter and Dubtribe Sound System.

Tommie Sunshine

Tastemaker to tastemakers and musical-icon, Tommie Sunshine is renowned for his reputation of being consistently ahead of the curve while still standing firmly in the zeitgeist.

Set apart by his iconoclastic productions, he is regarded as one of today’s most prolific remixers with well over 300 commissioned remixes to date including Katy Perry, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Donna Summer, Santana & Fall Out Boy, and his original production career spans collaborations with such diverse artists as Junkie XL, Arthur Baker, Felix da Housecat, Rebecca & Fiona, Midnight Magic, Deorro, Peaches, Kid Sister, Bart B More, Shinichi Osawa, The Disco Fries, James Murphy, Live City and many more.

Tommie's often spoken about DJ sets have landed him on the main stage of Ultra Music Festival two years running, the Hard stage at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Australia's Stereosonic, opening for Afrojack at Pier 94 on NYE, playing alongside Skrillex for his Brooklyn "Takeover" and an East Coast run of dates opening for Zedd.

Whether as a Producer, DJ or Artist, Tommie brings a unique enthusiasm to his craft; one that is fueled by his encyclopedic (if not obsessive) knowledge of underground and pop music spanning the last half-century. This brought him to moderate & sit on panels at Amsterdam Dance Event, Electronic Music Conference in Sydney Australia, Ibiza Music Summit, Winter Music Conference and EDMbiz. Sunshine has appeared on Katie Couric's day time talk show Katie, interviewed by Peter Jennings for ABC, appeared on BBC radio & TV, NPR and on occasion writes on sites such as Huffington Post known to cause an uproar in his firm stance on many issues most won't dare talk about.
