Earl Pool Ball

Earl Poole Ball is internationally known as “Mr. Honky Tonk Piano”. He played as a teenager for Louisiana Governor Jimmie davis’ reelection campaign before moving to California where he played the Country Music nightclub scene. He has over 20 years of featured appearances on television and in concert as a member of the Johnny Cash Show. He has played major fairs, rodeos and other venues throughout the United States and Canada.
Ball played with Gram Parsons on “Safe at Home”, he also recorded “Sweetheart of the Rodeo” with the Byrds. His other recording experience includes session with Merle Haggard, Glen Campbell, Linda Ronstadt and Johnny Cash.
Ball worked with Johnny Cash for over 20 years, and moved to Austin when Cash retired in 1999. He is still a highly sought after studio musician and can be seen performing throughout Austin both solo and with Redd Volkaert.
