Listen to Like a Light

"...the thing that sets Jessie apart from the gazillions of female singers out there is she’s just uncandidly raw with her music and lyrics, and when you add in her captivating stage presence it’s hard not to be impressed by her and her work." -Daybowbow.net

Jessie Frye formed her band in early 2009 after recieving an official invitation to play South by Southwest in Austin, TX.
This invitation was sent on the strength of her EP first release- The Delve. Shortly after, the local press favored Frye as a sensual and edgy live performer with the songwriting skills and live band to back it all up. She has been featured in The New York Times, Dallas Observer, NBC-DFW and more.

Frye released her indie pop rock call to arms, Fireworks Child, in April 2011. The record includes respected industry names such as John Congleton (St. Vincent, The Walkmen) and Joe McGrath (Ryan Adams, BB King, Green Day). The band continued to play official showcases at SXSW (2009-2012) as well as 35 Conferette in Denton, TX (2009-2012). She has been deemed a local darling by press and radio stations alike- appearing as a special guest for 91.7 KXT's fundraiser, and starring in a promotional music video for 35 Denton. The support and love of her fan base was shown with a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to record the band's first full length album.

Jessie and her band have shared the stage with artists such as Pat Benatar, Amos Lee, Tracy Bonham, Katie Herzig,
Julianna Barwick, Joan As Police Woman, Eric Hutchinson and Anais Mitchell.

The band is currently recording their debut LP. Jessie is 24 years old and lives in Denton, TX. She is a music teacher and creative coach at Hall Music Productions.

"Jessie Frye is a fascinating study in contrasts. On record, she's deceptively demure, purring into the microphone in a husky, come-hither voice. In concert, she's a perspiring, kinetic wreck, unable to stay seated at her piano for very long, often appearing to teeter on the edge of a complete nervous breakdown. Either way, Frye is in total control, conveying her intimate compositions with skill, placing her at the forefront of area songstresses. " -Preston Jones, Star Telegram
