ABOUT THE BAND:
A taste of rock n’ roll

Dance Laury Dance was born in 2007 from the combined talents of Lap (drums), Max Lemire (vocals), Blake (guitar), Harry (bass) and Dagger Pat (guitar). Right from their very first jams, they had a clear objective: to follow the tradition of rock n’ roll in its purest form while developing a unique and distinctive sound. The band grew strong thanks to the experience of each of its members, who had all previously participated in other bands. Dance Laury Dance brought together five strong-headed musicians who were all determined to make their dream come true and to make a living from their music. So when things got started, they moved quickly and seriously. With their long hair, leather and distortion, the heirs to Motorhead, Guns n’ Roses and AC/DC were born!

BEGINNINGS:
The group makes its first impressions…

In 2009, the band put out its first independently-produced 8-song release, Out of Rockers, which was mixed by Ryan Battistuzzi (Malajube, The Sainte Catherines, We are Wolves). The media, as well as the public, responded immediately, and within several months the word spread that Dance Laury Dance was the up-and-coming band in Quebec. So the band hit the road, playing a series of concerts that took them all over the province of Quebec as well as across Canada twice. In all, they gave over 200 performances in less than three years. Some of their first major accomplishments included winning the Prix Miroir for “best concert given by an up-and-coming Canadian artist” at the 2010 Festival d’été de Québec, giving a special concert at the legendary Viper room in Los Angeles, and opening for Pennywise during 2010’s Vélirium. Not long after, Dance Laury Dance received the support of Jägermusic Canada, a Jagermeister-sponsored program whose mission is to support Canadian rock bands.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Dance Laury Dance hits the big time

In 2011, Dance Laury Dance was given the oppurtunity to rock Quebec by hitting the stages of the province’s most prestigious musical events, like Les Francofolies, Woodstock en Beauce and Jonquière en musique. But to this day, the Dance Laury Dance’s greatest achievement is, without a doubt, having given a solid opening performance for Joe Satriani and Metallica in front of 150,00 people during the most recent edition of the Festival d’été de Québec. Second only to this would be playing at the renowned South by Southwest showcase gathering, where they shared the stage with groups like Karkwa, Malajube and The Dears. And as if this wasn’t enough, the five rockers had the chance to play for Gene Simmons of KISS on his reality TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels that will be airing this fall on the American station A&E.

THE NEW ALBUM:
Living for the Roll

Now that Dance Laury Dance has proved any sceptics wrong, the arrival of their new album Living for the Roll is sure to bring them to a whole new level. Released on July 12th on the Abusive Muzik label, the album is distributed by Universal and DEP and has gained success rapidly. Indeed, Living for the Roll, which is available across Canada, has been getting quite a bit of attention in the media. One must admit that Stephane Rancourt’s (Pascale Picard, Jean Leloup, Tailor Made Fable) production is solid. The public seems to agree with this as the album made its way into Archambault’s top 20 and Itunes’ top 30 during the first weeks of its release.

UPCOMING PROJECTS:
Dance Laury Dance is unstoppable

With some important, rapidly-achieved accomplishments under their belts, the band would like to take advantage of the momentum they have gained in order to seriously establish themselves in the world of music. A third Canadian tour has been announced for this fall and their first European visit is scheduled for 2012. Before hitting the open road, the band will pay a short visit to the United States to represent Quebec for the Québec in Hollywood event, next to artists like Steve Hill and Les Respectables.
