Wishes and Thieves
Wishes and Thieves is a New York based Alternative-Pop group that came together in the fall of 2010. Starting as the project of long-time friends Joe Higgins (bass) and Mike MacAllister (guitar), they sought to create music featuring modern electronic sounds without loosing the element of human performance. Completing the band was drummer Will Clark and vocalist Jolanda Porter. Their bass-heavy, female vocal driven sound has drawn comparisons to the likes of Portishead, Bjork, and Little Dragon. The group began writing and recording the music for “Lighthouse EP” throughout the winter of 2010/11. Following mastering by Jo LaPorta at the Lodge, the album was released in the spring as the group's debut record. The single and music video for "Forest Fire," the title track off their upcoming EP was released on November 1st. They continue to write, and record in their studio located in NYC’s flatiron district.
