Hatcham Social
London Town-based alternative quartet HATCHAM SOCIAL are poised to return to the fray with their second album, titled ‘About Girls’, as well as a revamped line-up and a feistily refreshed pop attitude.
The first album, "You Dig The Tunnel, I'll Hide The Soil" was released on Fierce Panda (UK) and TBD (US) in 2009; it received great praise everywhere and was album of the week/month in most UK publications (Vice,NME,Artrocker).
The second album, 'About Girls' ,is scheduled for release in March 2012; it was recorded in the band's very own studio halfway up a mountain in Wales, with the help of Laurie Latham(Echo And The Bunnymen, Squeeze) and Jim Anderson(Blood Red Shoes, Los Campesinos) . And just as the synth sheen of its predecessor has gone by the wayside so the songs are punchier, perkier, punkier.
When they haven't been going up the mountain and down the pop slope Hatcham Social have been keeping themselves busy elsewhere: producing records for Bridport Dagger, Sunderbans and DID; drumming with Tim and Mark from The Charlatans on their recent acoustic tour; supporting the likes of The Maccabees, Good Shoes and Pete & The Pirates; djing around Europe.
