Artist Central Clinic: Reason
Erik Hawkins of Berkleemusic (a.k.a. electronic music artist and composer, Erik Hawk) will be discussing song production workflow in Propellerhead’s Reason software. Throughout the presentation, he’ll be sharing general sound design and production tips and tricks, such as those heard in his DJ-friendly dance floor tracks and numerous film and TV song placements. He will also discuss his award winning online courses and what students can expect to experience and gain from the Berkleemusic online learning community. If there is time, the floor will be open to questions and an interactive music production activity.

Erik Hawkins (aka, Hawk) is a composer, producer, remixer, and author whose talents and technical expertise have leaders in the music industry calling him a "taste maker." He has worked with and remixed a variety of top artists, including Irene Cara, Digital Underground, Conscious Daughters, Strypper, Brenda Russell, and DJ Sasha. His own progressive dance music tracks have been used by major television networks and film studios, including ABC, CBS, MTV, Nickelodian, and New Line Cinema. His articles and columns have been published in Remix, Mix, Electronic Musician, MC2, Keyboard, and DigiZine. He has also written several books, including The Complete Guide to Remixing (Berklee Press), and developed the award winning Berkleemusic.com course, Programming and Producing Drum Beats.
