Robin Danar is a music producer, engineer, artist and mixer. He started his career engineering records in New York City with artists like Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Steely Dan, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Carly Simon and Chaka Khan for producers including Phil Ramone, Steve Lillywhite, Gary Katz and Russ Titelman. At the same time, he was doing live sound and recording at CBGB's with bands ranging from Blondie, the Ramones, Patti Smith and Television through the Dead Boys and The New York Dolls. He spent over a decade mixing front of house sound internationally for acts including Laurie Anderson, Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, The B-52's, The Church, The Blue Nile, Ian Hunter and Cyndi Lauper while finding new artists, developing their careers and producing their albums. Recent productions include live recordings with Macy Gray as well as Bonnie Raitt and Los Lobos for the Wim Wenders film "A Soul of a Man", part of the PBS series "Martin Scorcese Presents The Blues."

As a Technical Producer/Mixer, Robin is very involved with Santa Monica's KCRW and their "A Sounds Eclectic Evening" project, which includes performances by artists such as Coldplay, Beck, Norah Jones, Franz Ferdinand, Death Cab for Cutie and many special guests. He’s also produced broadcasts for their “Sessions” project with Sia, Moby and KD Lang as well as television shows including David Letterman, The Tonight Show, Conan, Saturday Night Live, Ellen DeGeneres, the View and Craig Ferguson. His role as a Producer/Mixer of the Shortlistofmusic Award has included similar broadcasts and recordings of the show for MTV and XM Radio with a variety of artists including Damien Rice, Interpol, N.E.R.D., Bright Eyes, Iggy Pop,The Roots Sigur Rós, TV on the Radio and Cat Power.

Robin continues to speak on panels at places like the South by Southwest Music Convention and the Musician’s Institute. His current focus still includes live Front of House Concert Sound, Broadcast and New Media production while producing others and doing his own “Producer as Artist” albums with a variety of featured vocalists and musicians.
