Financing an independent feature is a highly complex process. Film schools and books on film producing rarely explain the delicate balance of elements which are required to launch a film. How do you find the money? Where do you start?
The focus of this panel is to provide "real world" facts and war stories. There will be examples of the pitfalls that a producer may face when assembling the financing for a film, such as: What type of films are financeable? What level of talent is needed for a specific budget range? How do you finance your film while you are trying to close its financing? How do you qualify a financier? What do you do if a financier falls through? And most importantly: how do you build momentum for a project?
