Mentors - Writers
Every film starts as an idea. Getting that idea onto the page can present a range of unanticipated challenges for the uninitiated. Meet with accomplished writers who can offer insight into how to realize a project of your own.
Mentor session signup is open to all Film, Gold and Platinum badge holders at a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants who signed up online must check-in 30 minutes before your mentor time slot to guarantee your spot. Limited on-site signup is also available for a small number of mentor sessions spots and will begin 30 minutes before the first time slot of each session.

Presenters
John is a writer/director/producer based out of Austin, TX.
His short films Oh My God and Momma's Boy both premiered at Sundance in 2005 and 2006 respectively. He produced the feature Baghead (2008) which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and sold to Sony Pictures Classics. He directed and produced the feature The Overbrook Brothers (2009) which premiered at SXSW and sold to IFC.
For the last 17 years Jordan has written -- created, doctored, ruined, saved, or left almost exactly as he found them (so it's not really his fault) -- over 40 screenplays. He wrote the narration for MARCH OF THE PENGUINS and wrote and directed AROUND THE BEND, staring Christopher Walken, Josh Lucas and Michael Caine.
Noah Hawley is a novelist (The Good Father), screenwriter (Lies & Alibis) and television writer/show runner (The Unusuals, My Generation).
Novelist, performer, and screenwriter Owen Egerton has written for Warner Brothers, Fox, Disney and many others. He and his partners’ screenplay Bobbie Sue was ranked on the 2008 Blacklist before selling to Warner Brothers. His other works include the short story collection How Best to Avoid Dying, the Zach Scott produced play The Other Side of Sleep and the novel The Book of Harold, the Illegitimate Son of God. Egerton co-founded the Alamo Drafthouse's The Sinus Show and works regularly with Master Pancake Theater. He has been honored as one of Austin’s top comic performers and voted Austin’s favorite author in 2007, 2008 and 2010 by the readers of the Austin Chronicle.
