Curtis McMurtry
Listen to Whiskey Sweat
Curtis McMurtry writes songs about selfishness and spite.
Most inspired by songwriters Leonard Cohen and Fiona Apple, Curtis's songs are lyrically-driven and are designed to make vindictive, guilty feelings relatable.
Musically, Curtis is influenced by Jazz composers Thelonious Monk and Django Reinhardt as well as the works of Stravinsky and Bernard Herrmann. Curtis studied music composition in college, plays guitar and banjo, and will perform as a quartet with cellist Diana Burgess (of Mother Falcon), upright bassist Taylor Turner (of Lolita Lynne) and trumpeter Nathan Calzada.
