Fear of Men
Listen to Luna
Brighton, UK dream pop band Fear of Men began in 2011 as an extension of work Jessica Weiss was making for her art degree. Weiss had been making ambient soundtrack recordings for her short films, and met guitarist Daniel Falvey when he came to the exhibition of these films. The two art students started working toward a more pop sound in bedroom recordings before forming a band to flesh these songs out and releasing a series of cassettes and 7"s on various DIY labels. These were collected on the compilation 'Early Fragments' and released in 2013 by New York Label Kanine Records while the band (completed by drummer Michael Miles) prepared to record it's debut album. This arrived in the shape of 'Loom', a critically acclaimed record which was placed in metacritic's top ten debut albums of 2014 and which gave the band a springboard to tour the world. After spending much of 2015 in the studio Fear of Men are preparing to return with their second album, due to be released in Spring 2016.
