Janel Venzant

Janel Venzant serves as an Attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice at the Travis County Public Defender's Office. Originally from Maryland, Janel has made her mark across Texas, ultimately establishing her career in Austin. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Texas at Austin, demonstrating her commitment to a comprehensive legal and academic foundation. Prior to her current role, Janel worked at the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Texas. There, she gained substantial experience litigating civil claims under the First, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments, alongside numerous federal and state statutes. Janel's work is driven by her passion for justice and her eagerness to collaborate with and learn from her distinguished colleagues.
