My name is Billy Yang, and I work as an A&R Researcher for Capitol Records in Los Angeles. In my role here, I use real-time data, trend-mapping, and overall cultural understanding to identify top artist signing prospects. Having worked in the major label system for the past three years, I’ve developed an intricate understanding of the worlds of momentary virality vs. artist sustainability. That being said - while my time is largely spent on the frontline of artist discovery, my greatest passion is in the post-signing process & working with truly incredible artists who have unique stories to tell.
