Shea Ferring

Shea has been designing, building, and testing spacecraft for nearly 30 years. As Chief Technology Officer, Shea has been a key part the Firefly leadership team since mid-2018. He helped lead the maturity and transition of the company from a 100-person workforce to a 550-person company evaluated at more than $1B in a five-year period. Prior to Firefly, Shea held numerous engineering and leadership positions at both heritage and NewSpace companies, working on more than 60 missions and vehicles. With a passion for inspiring the next generation workforce, Shea has been mentoring high school and college students in robotics for more than two decades. He has a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering and a master’s in aerospace and satellite design.
