Kara Kockelman

Kara Kockelman is a Professor of Transportation Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and Associate Site Director of the NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Center for Efficient Vehicles and Sustainable Transportation Systems. She holds PhD, MS, and BS degrees in civil engineering, along with a master’s in city planning from UC Berkeley. An award-winning researcher, she has authored over 240 journal articles and two books, focusing on sustainable transportation planning and system design. She has served as President of the North American Regional Science Association and is an advisor to various transportation boards.
