James Cheney

James Cheney started a career of over 20 years in music publishing at Universal Music Publishing Group where he was Creative Director. From Universal, he has held creative roles at Songs Music Publishing, Global Entertainment Publishing and Spirit Music Group. Throughout his extensive career in A&R, Cheney has worked with some of the most talented artists, songwriters and producers in music, including The RZA, The Roots, The Matrix, Greg Curtis, Rob Holladay, Brian Lee, DJ Mustard & Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman. Currently, Cheney is VP Creative at Independent music company Reservoir Media where he works with songwriters such as Grammy winning, multi platinum selling producer Rami Dawod, Grammy Nominated producer Nick Lee, and buzzing artist grentperez.
