Karen DeSalvo
Dr. Karen DeSalvo is the Chief Health Officer at Google, an internist, and a leader at the intersection of medicine, public health, and technology. She has dedicated her career to improving health outcomes and eliminating inequities. At Google, she leads a team of health professionals guiding research, products, and services. She previously served as Health Commissioner in post-Katrina New Orleans, National Coordinator for Health IT, and Assistant Secretary for Health (Acting) in the Obama Administration. A former Vice Dean at Tulane, she is on the WHO Commission on Social Connection and co-leads NASDOH. Dr. DeSalvo earned her MD and MPH from Tulane and a master’s in clinical epidemiology from Harvard.
