Elizabeth Rhodes
Elizabeth Rhodes is Research Director at OpenResearch, a nonprofit research lab founded by Sam Altman in the mid-2010s, where she spearheaded a 3-year study on guaranteed cash transfers that examined their effects through multiple lenses including health, finances, and life satisfaction. The study produced comprehensive data, illuminating both the potential and limitations of guaranteed income programs. With a joint PhD in social work and political science, she brings academic expertise in poverty reduction and workforce development to her research, and is now working to kick off additional studies that apply OpenResearch’s unique, open-ended approach to large-scale research to provide strong, data-backed foundations for policy discussions around pressing societal issues.
