Adam Ciralsky

Adam Ciralsky is an American writer, director, and producer whose work in television and film has received three Emmys (and an additional six nominations) as well as Peabody, Polk, duPont, Loeb, and Barone awards.

He is the executive producer of, and inspiration for, Netflix’s blockbuster spy thriller, THE RECRUIT, which launches its second season in early 2025. Ciralsky also serves as consulting producer on THE AGENCY, the critically-acclaimed Paramount + with Showtime series, which premiered in November 2024 and is in pre-production on season two. Moreover, his bombshell writing gave rise to — and he executive produced — Peacock’s DR. DEATH in late 2023.

Currently, he and producing partner Gene Klein (SUITS, SUITS LA, COVERT AFFAIRS) are working on THE ENVOY, which Hulu bought in a competitive bidding situation. The show is a scripted adaptation of Ciralsky’s June 2024 Vanity Fair article, Take No Prisoners. 

Ciralsky’s access to elusive worlds from nuclear-armed submarines to secret government units and trillion-dollar boondoggles — and exceptional characters — bitcoin billionaires, fake royals, and mercenaries — is peerless. Beyond Vanity Fair — where he is on the masthead as contributing editor, he has produced groundbreaking work for CBS’ 60 Minutes , NBC News, ABC News, and Vice (for HBO and Showtime). Additionally, he co-directed THE PROJECT, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Finally, as depicted in THE RECRUIT, Ciralsky began his career as an attorney with the CIA where he provided counsel on a variety of sensitive matters and before that at the Pentagon where he helped combat the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
