Kayla Briët

Kayla Briët (she/they, Prairie Band Potawatomi, Taiwanese-Chinese, Dutch-Indonesian) is a filmmaker and composer exploring themes of futurity and belonging currently based in Taipei, Taiwan. With works spanning film scores and documentary to virtual reality installations, she aims to amplify untold stories and write love letters to the diaspora communities she grew up in. Her work has been exhibited by SWAIA, PBS FNX, MoMA, SXSW, Smithsonian APAC, and NMAI and supported by FoundSound Nation, New Music USA, the Sundance Institute Indigenous x New Frontier Program, and the Asian Cultural Council.
