Duff Stewart

Duff Stewart is the Chief Executive Officer of GSD&M, based in Austin, Texas. His journey began as an intern, and over the years, he ascended through various roles to become CEO in 2009. Under his leadership, GSD&M has expanded its client roster to include major brands such as Capital One, Stellantis , Corona, Food Lion, and MD Anderson. Notably, GSD&M has maintained a 43 year long relationship with Southwest Airlines.

Stewart’s connection to Austin started when he moved from Dallas to attend the University of Texas, where he earned a degree in economics. Before fully immersing himself in the advertising world, he worked in real estate with Cornerstone Development. His transition to GSD&M in 1990 marked the beginning of a distinguished career in advertising.

Stewart is deeply committed to community service. He has been actively involved with the Austin Theatre Alliance, serving as chair of the board of directors since 2013. In this role, he has overseen the revitalization of the Paramount and State theaters, contributing to Austin’s vibrant cultural scene.

In recognition of his leadership and contributions, Stewart was honored as the Large Company CEO of the Year by the Austin Business Journal in 2023. More recently, he was inducted into the American Advertising Federation (AAF) District 10’s Southwest Hall of Fame, acknowledging his significant impact on the advertising industry.
