Katayoun Dibamehr

Before joining Floréal in 2018, KatayounDibamehr has been actively involved in the international festival scene since 2009. Since 2014, she has collaborated with Montreal's Festival Nouveau Cinema as the head of the new media section, curating new media works for over 10 years. In parallel to her curatorial work, Katayoun supports and represents artists, focusing on producing innovative and immersive XR experiences. A Venice Biennale College Alumni member, she has mentored filmmakers in the CineMart Immersive cohort of the Rotterdam International Film Festival. She has served as a jury member at some of the most prestigious film festivals, such as the NEWS & DOCUMENTARY EMMY® AWARDS, Luxembourg Film Festival, Geneva International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, and the International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA). Over the past 10 years, she has worked with various artists from different artistic backgrounds in documentary, non-fiction, fiction, and animation. Since 2018, she has produced multiple award-winning immersive experiences. She is behind the award-winning The Hangman at Home - VR, the Grand Jury Prize at Venice Film Festival in 2020, nominated and shortlisted for Cesar and Oscars for short film in 2022, the ''beautifully crafted'' VR film according to VR Scout article, Minimum Mass by Raqi Syed and Areito Echevarria, recipient of the Crystal for Best VR at Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2021, the Emmy-nominated Goliath: Playing with Reality, recipient of the Grand Jury Prize at Venice Film Festiva in 202l, and mentioned as part of IndieWire's "5 Masterful XR Experiences That Prove the Future of the Art Form Has Arrived," Maya: The Birth of a Superhero, and most recently the recipient of the Narrative Achievement Lion at the Venice International and Nominated for Producers Guild Award, Impulse: Playing With Reality.
