Brent Geary

Dr. Brent Geary is a CIA Historian with over 20 years of federal service. In that role, he acts as both a scholar and educator for the CIA workforce. Before joining the History Staff, he served for ten years as a leadership analyst covering the Middle East and as a White House intelligence briefer. In his role as an analyst, he briefed a number of US and foreign leaders, including President Barack Obama. An adjunct professor at The George Washington University, Dr. Geary teaches graduate students about the intelligence profession. He earned his MA and PhD in History from Ohio University and his BA from Indiana University. Prior to college, he served in the US Navy as an avionics technician. He grew up in Mitchell, Indiana.
