Stephanie Holbrook
Stephanie Holbrook is a Casting Director with extensive credits in both Film and TV. She has numerous film credits that have premiered at the Major Festivals.
Fantasy Life premieres at SXSW 2025. Stephanie co-cast Somewhere in Queens, directed by Ray Romano, which premiered at TriBeCa Film Festival, and she cast Marc Meyers’ Human Capital, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Prior films that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival are The Wolf Hour, Abe, and The Lifeguard. Stephanie also cast The Kindergarten Teacher and Madeline’s Madeline, both at Sundance and for which Stephanie earned Artios Awards for Excellence in Casting.
Past film credits include Marc Meyers’ My Friend Dahmer (Tribeca 2017), Equity, directed by Meera Menon, Christine directed by Antonio Campos, and The Eyes of My Mother directed by Nicolas Pesce (all having premiered at Sundance). She also cast Life Of Crime, Applesauce, Ghost Team, Ratter, Ava’s Possessions, The Abandoned, Jane Wants a Boyfriend, One Percent More Humid, The Happening for M Night Shyamalan, The Book of Love (TriBeCa 2016), Ordinary World, Three Generations, Catfight (Toronto International Film Festival), Landline and Thoroughbreds (both Sundance films). Stephanie worked with Nicolas Pesce again cast the reboot of The Grudge and covered NY casting for John Wick 3. Stephanie cast Alan Brown’s Private Romeo (Grand Jury Prize for Acting, Outfest 2011). Stephanie also cast Brown’s Superheroes (Maverick Spirit Award, Cinequest 2008), Five Dances (2013) and his latest, the yet to be released Other People’s Bodies, starring Annie Parisse, McKinley Belcher III and AJ Shively, among others.
Throughout her career, Stephanie has had the honor of collaborating with longtime creative partner, Douglas able with whom she was on the casting team for Glass, Isle of Dogs, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Moonrise Kingdom, We Own The Night, The Squid and The Whale, Margot at the Wedding, Margaret, Failure to Launch, The Village, Lady In the Water, among others.
Stephanie was the Casting Director for all 4 seasons of the series The Sinner on USA Network and co-cast all seasons of Servant for M. Night Shyamalan for Apple TV. Stephanie was also a Casting Director for the additional Streaming Series Clickbait for Netflix, Outer Range for Amazon and the pilot of Shyantaram for Apple TV. She cast an additional Apple Series Hello Tomorrow! as well as the first production for the Family Division of HBO Max, B-Loved (aka Girl Haunts Boy), which aired earlier this year. Stephanie cast a film called The Floaters, directed by Rachel Israel which is in the final post production stage. She also cast the upcoming Peacock series Long Bright River starring Amanda Seyfried, which premieres in March.
A member of the Casting Society, Stephanie is a multiple-nominee and multiple-winner for Excellence in Casting. She was most recently honored there with a nomination for her casting of the indie film The Outside Story, starring Brian Tyree Henry.
