Natasha Harper-Madison

Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison represents Austin’s District 1, the Eastside, a role she has held since her election to the Austin City Council in 2018. Raised in the district, Natasha has a deep understanding of the unique cultural and socio-economic challenges facing her community. Her journey into public service was sparked by her roots in grassroots activism, which was further solidified by her experience as a small business owner and local advocate. As Chair of the Housing and Planning Committee, she champions housing affordability, equity, and sustainable development. Additionally, Natasha serves on the Mobility Committee and the Capital Area Metropolitan Organization (CAMPO), where she influences transportation policy to ensure greater accessibility and safety.
