Rachel King
Rachel L. King is a dedicated advocate, thought leader, and conscious social influencer committed to racial equity, Black life, women’s rights, foster care and adoption, and holistic wellness. As a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practitioner and Human Resources professional, she currently serves as the Chief People Officer for Dream.Org. Her career is a direct reflection of her deep-rooted passion for people, culture, and justice.
Despite the current attacks on DEI, Rachel remains unwavering in her belief that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to a thriving society and successful businesses. She refuses to back down in the face of systemic resistance, standing firm in her mission to create equitable spaces where all people can succeed and thrive.
Her deep dedication to community began early in life and is also reflected in her decision to adopt—an experience that has shaped her advocacy for foster care and adoption reform.
Rachel is also passionate about holistic wellness and the power of food as medicine. She follows a predominantly vegan lifestyle and believes that mental and physical wholeness are forms of resistance against a system designed to weaken and suppress marginalized communities. She is currently becoming a licensed herbalist and incorporates plant-based healing into her daily life. Her love for food, health, and wellness led her to co-create the C.R.O.W.N. Detox Method with her husband Marquise. She is also the author of Sazón & Soul: A Veganized Tribute to My Family's Kitchen, a cookbook that reimagines traditional family recipes through a plant-based lens, celebrating culture while embracing nourishment.
Beyond her professional and personal endeavors, Rachel serves on the Board of Directors for the Austin Area Urban League. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
