Michael J. Winningham

Michael J Winningham moved to Austin in the late 90's as a songwriter, performer, valet parker, and fish and chips deep fry cook at the historic Dog and Duck pub. More recently, Michael is juggling two active careers, one in music and the other in Urban Planning. Michael is deeply committed to a more affordable Austin for our creative and workforce class. In 2024, Junkyard was conceived, an organization that creates essential resources for working, Austin based musicians and venue owners. The first offering from Junkyard are the Junk Pods, which are converted Cap Metro buses into free rehearsal and working spaces for Austin musicians.
