Michael V. Marrale

Michael V. Marrale is a finance and technology executive, who serves as the CEO of M Science LLC. An early adopter of alternative data in the investment process, he has led one of the largest international, data-driven research organizations, facilitating valuable insights for corporations and financial institutions.
Michael joined Investment Technology Group in 2012 as Head of Research, Sales and Trading and was appointed to the Executive Committee. While at ITG, lead a significant restructuring in the business which resulted in a series of transactions. In 2015, Michael played a major role in selling the group’s energy research business, Ross Smith Energy, to Warburg Pincus for over $120 million. Over six years ago, he led the sale of Majestic Research to Leucadia Investments, a division of Jefferies Financial Group, to create M Science LLC. Prior to ITG, Michael held senior leadership roles at RBC Capital Markets, where he built and led several global equities businesses.
More recently, Michael has overseen the rapid growth of M Science. This comes as the firm has nearly doubled its headcount and added several hundred new clients across the globe. Under Michael’s leadership, M Science has expanded its product suite and data solutions across the U.S., Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, and the company has been recognized as a pioneer and leader in data analytics.
Michael currently serves on the University of Michigan Parent & Family Leadership Council and oversees the Marrale Family Scholarship at the University of Michigan, which provides tuition for first generation students with financial needs. Additionally, Michael is Chair on the Benefit Committee for Points for Patriots, an organization dedicated to healing the wounds of war. He has also been honored for his long-term continued commitment to the Ronald McDonald House. Michael is also a dedicated father and loves spending time with his three children and watching his favorite team play – Go Blue!
