Lecturer In Public Policy | Investor
UCLA School Of Public Affairs | AMR Ventures

As a Lecturer in Public Policy at UCLA focused on artificial intelligence, I teach how emerging technologies, like AI, are shaping society and the future, and how future policy and business leaders must appropriately consider its consequences. Additionally, I manage a $10 million fund at AMR Ventures, investing in underrepresented-led startups and small businesses.

My broader work sits at the intersection of civil and human rights, racial justice, and the innovation economy. At the Equal Justice Initiative, I investigated over 4,000 lynchings across the American South, as well as physical and sexual abuse in prisons for those incarcerated and condemned. Today, my research can be found in the country’s first lynching memorial, the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. Furthermore, I advised U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Congressman Adam Schiff on national security and criminal justice reform.

As a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur and attorney, I’ve guided companies through incorporation, venture funding, and IPOs. Today, I focus on empowering communities, advising nonprofits, and reimagining policy solutions for a rapidly changing world, preparing society for how artificial intelligence will change the world.
