Dr. Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg
Dr. Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg is a Senior Fellow at the Ford Foundation, and Founder & CEO of Black Women in Executive Leadership. Previously, she was an Executive-In-Residence at Schmidt Futures, and directed African Women in Agricultural Research and Development, promoting gender-responsive capacity building. She is an advisor for Center for Development Research and the Africa Food Prize selection committee, and sits on the boards of the Global Food Banking Network, Syngenta Foundation, Global Crop Diversity Trust, and Autodesk Foundation. Wanjiru founded Akili Dada, a leadership incubator for young, under-resourced women. She taught politics at the U. of San Francisco. Her accolades include White House Champion of Change, 100 Most Influential Africans, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow.
