Cassandra Vieten

Cassandra Vieten, PhD works to shift people’s perspectives so they can see new possibilities. She currently is a Clinical Professor at UC San Diego where she serves as Director of the Center for Mindfulness, Director of Research at the Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination, and co-founder of the Center for Psychedelic Research. For 18 years she explored the science of consciousness at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, founded by an Apollo 14 astronaut, where she served as President from 2013-2019 and is now a Senior Fellow. She leads transformational workshops as faculty at the Esalen Institute. Her research focuses on imagination, spirituality and health, transformative experiences and practices, mindfulness, and virtual reality to inspire awe and compassion.
